Reservoir Geomechanics

Course Status

0%

The course begins by explaining in depth all the relevant concepts necessary for the analysis of reservoir geomechanics. Next, it presents the main methods for modeling reservoir geomechanics, delving into the finite difference method (FDM) and the finite element method (FEM).

Finally, the formulation for the reservoir geomechanics modeling is analyzed, according to an approach for both solids and fluids, and considering a coupled system.

Consequently, this course provides a sufficient basis for the study of reservoir geomechanics, highlighting a series of problems present during its useful life, and on how it is possible to develop a comprehensive geomechanical model, in such a way as to corroborate its correct operation.
